Captain William G. McCaw died right after appearing on a radio show from a
massive heart attack.
The radio show was a round table event discussing the relationship of the ROTC to
the war. Capt. McCaw collapsed after completing his speaking part in the program.
He was carried from the studio while Maj. F. T. Reed wound up the program. The
radio audience was unaware of the tragedy.
He served as athletic director and coach at Kenosha High School and he also was an
executive of the Wisconsin Power and Light Company but returned to Indiana
University as an instructor.
