Robert 'Bob' Griffin was a PFC in the U.S. Marine Corps, and served in the Korea War.

Bob Griffin is buried at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, Chattanooga, Tennessee.

In 1956, Bob Griffin played in only six games.  He was diagnosed with a kidney ailment

which kept him out of some games that season.  After being out of pro-football for a couple

of years, the St. Louis Cardinals, picked him up to play in the remaining five games during

the 1961 season.  They were having some personnel issues and needed an experienced man

at the center position.
