John Tuggle died in his sleep while undergoing treatments at American Biologic

Hospital in Tijuana, Mexico.

He was the last pick in the 1983 NFL Draft making him "Mr. Irrelevant" which is the annual

"Title" given to the player picked last, in the last round in the NFL Draft.

John Tuggle was drafted by the New York Giants in the 12th round of the 1983 NFL Draft.


He was one of the stars of the 1982 "Japan Bowl".  He scored two touchdowns in that game. 

One was a 65 yard fumble recovery and the other was a 1 yard plunge in the second quarter.

Tuggle was voted the top offensive player of the game.
