Jim Swink died at his home in Rusk, Texas due to complications of

lymphoma.

Jim Swink decided to not play pro-football right out of college and instead decided

to concentrate on his medical degree.  On April 16, 1960, he finally relented and

signed with the Dallas Texans.  He lasted five games that season and quickly found

out that he would not be able to play pro-football and continue his medical degree

at the same time.
