I remember when John David Crow came to the 49ers from St.Louis in 1965. He was traded for Abe Woodson, who had been a defensive back and kick returner for the 49ers since 1960. Crow teamed with Ken Willard in the backfield for several seasons, and finished playing at tight end in 1968 after Monty Stickles had left the 49ers for New Orleans. The 49ers had fairly decent teams during Crow's four years with them, usually upsetting the Rams or Packers once each of those years, but never beating the Colts, and sometimes losing to a really bad team. That's practically the same uniforms that the 49ers till wear today, but with sleeves and the full three stripes on the jersey. It's too bad jerseys look so much like crap nowadays.
