Did you know?
Mike Katrishen served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Prior to that, he played college football at the University of Alabama. Upon
his return, he attended Southern Mississippi from 1946 to 1947 playing on the
football team both years.
Mike Katrishen received his masters degree from George Washington University.
He was once quoted as saying, "Football teaches discipline but that's a key most
people overlook. The athlete is taught to work toward a goal, and end. His season
is not over with one hard practice, or a game. It goes on."
In 1950, he was in Korea as administrator of the military recreation program.
During his football career, he is always mentioned as "Mike Katrishen". As he moved
into business later in life, I see his name written as "Bill Katrishen".
