Ben Dobbs was a star on the 1932 Ohio State freshmen team.  He was hurt

in the opening game of the 1933 season and did not play college football again.

He was a successful football, baseball and basketball coach during the 1940's

In early 1950, he suffered a heart attack but recovered enough to continue coaching 

The Citadel football squad later that fall.
