At the time of his death, he was the oldest living Green Bay Packers former player.

His younger brother, Royal Kahler played pro-football for the 1941 Pittsburgh Steelers

and the 1942 Green Bay Packers.  They both played college football at the

University of NebraskaRoyal passed away on February 21, 2005 at the age of 86.


While at Nebraska, Bob also excelled at track.  He set an indoor American 70-yard low

hurdle record of 7.8 seconds.
