Bob Heck was a United States Marine and served our country in World War II 

and during the Korean War.

In the mid 1940's, he entered a boxing tournament, won the heavyweight title, and was

presented the championship trophy by former president, Gerald Ford. Robert was chosen

to return to the United States to become an officer in the Marine Corps and was

assigned to the V12 Program at Purdue University.

Bob Heck also played football for the Quantico Marines before heading to Korea.
