Dick Evey was traded to the Detroit Lions on September 1, 1971

He was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the 2nd round of the 1964 AFL Draft

and by the Chicago Bears in the 1st round of the 1964 NFL Draft.

Dick Evey retired from pro-football on June 23, 1974.  He was at camp

with the WFL's Chicago Fire team when he said he was out of the game for two

years and didn't feel like he could get himself back into shape for the season.

On August 13, 1974, he changed his mind and returned to the team.  He

played one season with the Chicago Fire squad.
