Did you know?

Rudy Hayes went hunting with Buzz Nutter and Clendon Thomas on

December 4, 1962 near Uniontow, Pennsylvania and suffered a heart attack.

Prior to his heart attack that day, he suffered a knee injury in the second game

of the season against the Dallas Cowboys and had surgery.  He was put back

on the roster only a few days before his hunting trip, just in time to play in

the game against the St. Louis Cardinals.  It marked the end of his football career.

He did not play during the 1961 season because of a leg injury.
