He was a New Mexico State Police Chief who was killed when the car in

which he was riding overturned near Raton, New Mexico around 3:00 AM.

Two other men, Dr. Charles D. Pickett and Guyholt, both of Roswell, New Mexico

were also killed and a fourth man, Dr. Pitts, of Roswell was severely injuried.

The group was returning from a pheasant hunting trip in South Dakota and from

indications noticed by Sheriff Robinson of Raton who investigated the accident,

one of the group must have fallen asleep at the wheel.
